Why does my Himalayan salt lamp feel wet or sweat?
Himalayan salt naturally attracts moisture from humid air, so occasional dampness is normal, especially during humid weather. Keep your lamp on a dry, moisture-resistant surface and away from humidifiers, bathrooms and other damp areas. If it becomes wet, unplug it before wiping it dry and ensure all electrical components remain moisture-free.
Where is the best place to put a Himalayan salt lamp?
Choose a dry, stable spot where you can enjoy its warm ambient glow. Bedrooms, living rooms, reading corners and home offices are popular choices. There is no scientifically proven “best” room for salt lamps, so placement is really about creating the atmosphere you enjoy while protecting the lamp from excessive moisture.
Which locations should you avoid when placing a salt lamp?
Avoid bathrooms, sinks, humidifiers and other damp locations. Salt readily interacts with moisture, and water should always be kept away from the lamp’s electrical components. Also avoid unstable surfaces or places where children or pets could knock the lamp over. Dry, stable and secure is the best rule for placement.
How long can a Himalayan salt lamp last?
The salt crystal itself can last for many years when kept dry and properly cared for, it doesn’t have a conventional expiration date.
